Graphic Design Work 003 - Heavy Metal Design

The first image, "Psi-Clops" was inspired by 1960's psychedelic rock posters, George Orwell's book, "1984", and OP art.
"Nuke 'em All" pays homage to Metallica's 1983 album cover, "Kill 'em All." I replaced the pool of blood with a nuke symbol and set up the hand to push the "Red Button" instead of wielding a hammer. The button is further distinguished by a clean outline while the "tri-wings" have ragged edges.
Nose art on B-1 Lancer bombers also provided additional inspiration. Much of the art from that era featured heavy metal imagery and gallows humor. I am certain that most of that art was painted by a metalhead-artist crew member.
